Intermediate Obedience

This training is for dogs that have completed the Beginning Obedience class (or be able to demonstrate basic obedience skills in a class setting), but are not ready for Competition level classes. This class is designed to improve basic skills and begin off leash work.  Novice/Intermediate Rally signs and/or Open Obedience work may be introduced during the class. Note: Dogs in season will not be allowed in class.

Exercises to be taught include:

  • Focus on handler
  • Sit
  • Down
  • Come
  • Loose-leash walking

Equipment needed:

  • 6-foot leash (leather or fabric, comfortable in your hand)
  • An appropriate collar for training purposes (no harnesses without permission of instructor)
  • Small, soft training treats and/or toy

Prerequisites: Dogs must have successfully completed the Beginning Obedience class.  Handlers must be 16 years or older.
